The Volvo Open 70 is a high-performance racing yacht, designed to be fast and seaworthy in all conditions. The boats are constructed from carbon fiber and Kevlar, and feature a canting keel, a retractable bow sprit, and a large sail plan. The boats are designed to be sailed by a crew of 11, and feature a variety of onboard systems and safety features.

The Volvo Open 70 has been used in the Volvo Ocean Race since 2005, and has become one of the most successful and popular classes of racing sailboat in the world. The boats have also been used in other major offshore races, such as the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Transat Jacques Vabre.
